About the Role
If you are a self-starter known for your partnership and communication skills, come join us as a Designer!
Use if Designer: In this role, you will be using your skills and expertise to develop highly complex designs. These cover a very wide range, from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll create and review layouts, drawings, and models for clarity, completeness, and accuracy. You'll identify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommend revisions and/or improvements in designs
Use if Software Developer: In this role, you will use your skills and expertise to develop highly complex software solutions within an Agile team. These solutions range from advanced back-end development to front-end development for software that interfaces with hardware and 3rd party software ranging from avionics interfaces to EO/IR sensors to radio communications to graphical user interfaces that operators use to control dozens of pieces of hardware and ingest important information to complete tasks. You will complete software development with teams ranging from 3 to 10 individuals and will participate in full stack development and full lifecycle development.

One of the unique aspects of this position is that you will have a chance to combine both your mechanical aptitude with your basic knowledge of electronics. Working side by side with engineers on both sides you will put together a complete product package which describes the complete product design. This will include wiring diagrams, cables, basic PCB layout, CAD and assembly drawings.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience
  • A higher level degree may substitute for experience
  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates or Technical Degree in a related field
  • Background in the Aerospace & Defense Industry
  • Experience using SOLIDWORKS, Creo, NX, ProEngineer, AutoCAD, CATIA or Enovia 3Dxperience software.
  • Working knowledge of ASME and Government standards.
  • Prior experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
  • Knowledge of industry-standard design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware and or electrical component selection, fabrication, manufacturing, and production processes
  • Familiarity with Electro-Magnetic Effects (EME) to include, Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI)
  • Experience in digital and analog circuit layout and schematic capture
  • Understanding of the printed circuit board layout process and tools
  • Cable layout and drawings
  • Familiar with Siemens Capital and/or CREO Schematic

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:

  • Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
$59,935.70 - $82,411.59
