Product Designers at Surest (formerly Bind) are integral to how we build products: defining core strategies that deliver value to members and creating easy-to-use experiences with polished craft and execution. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work cross functionally to garner support and gather input
  • Identify opportunities and advocate for user needs with leadership and stakeholders
  • Champion design strategies that measurably improve membership growth and
  • improve satisfaction
  • See through the full stack of the design cycle, from concept to completion
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Researchers, Engineers, and other
  • Product Designers
  • Facilitate a smooth handoff process with an eye toward iterative improvement and
  • provide annotations to convey design solutions
  • Collectively build onto and maintain our design system, Vitruvian
  • Help shape org and process decisions, providing regular guidance to design
  • Leadership


Day-to-day

  • Deliver key UX design deliverables based on project needs, such as journey maps,
  • wireframes, prototypes and concept models
  • Participate in research studies, including onsite observations, interviews, and
  • usability testing
  • Quickly respond to research insights using a hybrid UX and behavioral design
  • approach
  • Collaborate with developers and other designers and when handing off high-fidelity
  • concepts, documenting your vision along the way


Your first year

  • Improve the experience for member-facing experiences, including search, claims
  • and integrated scheduling
  • Level up your design approach using data and AI to inform strategy
  • Evolve our design system, Vitruvian
  • Partner with design leadership to build a strong UX presence

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related degree
  • 3+ years of experience in product/UX design in a highly regulated industry (banking, insurance or healthcare)
  • Experience designing mobile apps
  • Experience working inside of a Product team in a fast-paced, Agile environment
  • Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end understanding of complex/ambiguous problems and conveying technical design requirements for development teams
  • Proficiency using Figma or Sketch and maintaining design systems

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
