Hallmark's New Media Studio is a highly collaborative and fast-paced team that is responsible for delivering compelling and on-strategy photography, video, & sound for Hallmark. With visual and audio storytelling at its core, the studio drives to connect consumers to the full extent of Hallmark's portfolio through marketing, merchandising, advertising, and product development. The New Media Studio is one of the largest in-house studios in the country, with more than 50 photographers, cinematographers, directors, editors, sound engineers, stylists, producers, and support staff.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

The Studio Art Director - New Media Studio leads and develops a team of creative talent who are responsible for video production that supports Hallmark's wholesale and retail businesses. In this position, you will be expected to perform in a collaborative environment and consistently produce high-quality, world-class media productions.

Working with production teams, account leaders and business partners, you will be required to use your professional experience and technical knowledge to offer creative solutions to meet the needs of Hallmark's global business. In addition, you will be expected to execute projects within the defined timelines and budgets. Projects will range from internal communications to consumer facing branding and marketing content for both broadcast and social. The Studio Art Director will identify and apply innovative and creative approaches to continually elevate video and media production work at Hallmark.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of professional work experience
  • Minimum 5 years video directing and/or video production
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator and AfterEffects



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in film/video production, media arts or communication.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates/showcases:
    • Work in which the applicant was the director or was directly responsible for the visuals and structure of the project
    • Your specific point of view and style
    • A breadth and variety of work samples
  • Strong interpersonal skills--able to work effectively with diverse internal and external partners
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills-able to effectively communicate
  • Thrives in a consistently busy and changing environment
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Strong visual storytelling skills and good sense of timing
  • Be able to visualize and direct full scale productions
  • Experience with studio and location video production
