We’re looking for a designer to support our business transformation projects. In this exciting role, you'll partner with Product Managers, Engineers, Operations, Licensing & Accounting to define, validate and illustrate new workflows. Ability to narrate compelling stories visually in a broad way, so that various partners, including senior leadership, can understand and visualize the desired experience.

We’ve launched in 170 markets…and counting! We aim to revolutionize the way people consume music and podcasts, and we’ll need some very hardworking people to help us achieve our mission.

What You'll Do

  • Use research, data, workshops and interviews to craft internal business processes and capabilities required to deliver on initiatives.
  • Build tailored artifacts such as presentations, reports, visual maps, service maps, sophisticated journey maps, service blueprints, progress reports, etc. to help service owners and partners understand and drive relevant paths forward.
  • Build and maintain custom artifact libraries for use in education and training to secure internal and external consensus for business change initiatives.
  • Plan and lead co-creation workshops with internal stakeholders and partners as part of analysis and design of new processes.
  • Drive operational excellence and efficiency, delivering appropriate design quality within budget and project parameters.
  • Explore and articulate options for process propositions beyond product propositions based on knowledge of partner/operations/systems context.
  • Work with your peers in operations, engineering and accounting to turn workflow brainstorms and business needs into user journey diagrams that can be consumed internally at all levels including executives and externally by licensors and vendors.
  • Rapidly produce multiple concepts and workflows, understanding when deeper exploration is warranted and when it is best to change paths and try another approach.
  • Use data in the design and decision making process.
  • Collaborate with other design fields at Spotify through the Spotify Design community.
  • Reports to Head of Global Publishing Solutions.
  • You will work out of the New York office.

Who You Are

  • Minimum of 10+ years experience delivering excellent design as a Service Designer, Information Architect, Product Designer, Interaction Designer or similar.
  • You’re an outstanding teammate, communicator, storyteller and facilitator.
  • You have the communication skills and people-focused design mentality to help set up frameworks and brainstorm initial design concepts. You love to collaborate with lots of different functions.
  • A conceptual and human-centered problem solver. You seek to understand people’s needs, motivations and behaviours – in order to translate them into impactful results.
  • You love thinking big, and at the same time, you know when to apply pixel-perfect attention to detail.
  • You care about the impact of your work. You have a point of view on how to evaluate the success of your designs.
  • You have an appetite for learning and evolving in all things. From design craft to process to industry and market trends — you never stop pushing into the next big challenge and fit right into our growth-focused culture.
  • Passionate about emerging technology & design trends.
  • You are proficient in Figma, Lucid chart, Mural and other tools.
  • The ideal candidate has previous experience working in a business/technical consulting environment, but not mandatory.
  • Please provide an online portfolio, or PDF that you can share with us, ensuring you provide any necessary passwords. Applications without a portfolio are unlikely to be considered.
