Location: DallasAbout The Role:

As a Senior Motion Designer at Crunchyroll, you will bring life to our app experiences on mobile, web and TV through content and UI animations. You will report to the Director, Product Design to define the motion design language that expresses the Crunchyroll brand, elevates our experiences, and resonates with anime fans. You will work in a team of designers who collaborate with user researchers, product management, and engineers to evolve experiences through iterative improvements and new features, and to define and bring projects from concept to production, ensuring user goals are represented. You will handle the review process, both within the design department and with partner teams, provide constructive input to the designs of other designers on your team.Your designs should show an understanding of the industry, our competitors, and especially, empathy for our users. You will think through problems and use your design expertise to create solutions that provide our users with an outstanding user experience that is elegant, engaging, and functional!

About The Team:

The Product Design department is a distributed team responsible for creating Crunchyroll's video streaming services. Our work encompasses the new Crunchyroll website, the mobile apps, and the TV experiences. Our mission is to provide a fabulous and engaging user experience for lovers of anime and manga content everywhere!

As a partner to business, product, and engineering groups, we collaborate with teams across the company to identify the right problems and ensure that our solutions satisfy the goals of both the business and the end-user.

About You:

We get excited about candidates, like you, because...

  • 8+ years of professional motion design experience
  • Experience with animations tools like Lottie and After Effects
  • Experience with design programs like Sketch, Figma, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Portfolio showcasing your design work and your design process
  • Demonstrate a user-centered approach and have empathy for the end users
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Adept collaborator working with teams
  • Experience designing motion language for UI
  • Experience with prototyping

Pluses:

  • Experience with Living Room Experience
  • Eye capturing illustration and visual capabilities
  • Experience working in streaming or entertainment industry
  • Experience with brand and identity work
  • Experience with design systems

Hybrid Workspace

Employees engage in a combination of remote and on-site work.

Two in-person days per week. Tuesdays and Thursdays are the company-wide days for ALL team members to be in the office, and individuals may choose to come in more if the please.
