Your Career

The Digital Experience team is looking for an outstanding Senior Manager, User Experience Design to join the team and be responsible for the design and evolution of digital experiences that deliver modern, engaging and dynamic customer experiences. 

The right candidate should possess exceptional design skills, creative problem-solving, a great sense of aesthetics, as well as deep technical knowledge of the web, its limitations and how to strategically drive demand from digital experiences. The applicant must have an affinity for minimal design, typography, and attention to the smallest of details. A strong ability to distill complex problems into simple, elegant solutions is key to success. We are a fast-paced company with an entrepreneurial spirit, so the majority of the work will be focused on innovating original and creative content and application, as well as final deliverables and solutions that work in the real world. 


Your Impact

  • Conceptualize and Design best in class and forward-thinking web and mobile application experiences, including paloaltonetworks.com, micro sites, immersive digital experiences and more
  • Identifies areas of opportunity and finds creative solutions that distinguish experiences from competition and position Palo Alto Networks as the best security company in the world
  • Collaborate with others within the marketing department to develop custom experiences for campaign landing pages, product launches, and events
  • Constantly measure how designs are performing and iterate to improve those experiences. Influences team roadmaps to include experience improvements when the design is not performing or needs improvement
  • Leverage research and provide strategic insights to shape effective user experiences and build interactive prototypes
  • Deliver full fidelity design comps for implementation as well as help build and improve template files and design guidelines that build out our design system
  • Collaborate and present design recommendations and concepts to stakeholders with clarity and confidence and invest in building relationships and trust with stakeholders, peers and working groups
  • Communication to team and management on project development, timelines, and results

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent work experience) and ~10+ years of experience creating detailed wireframes and design specs of intricate user flows for digital experiences
  • A portfolio demonstrating measurably effective designs, concept development, typography, web layouts and problem solving skills
  • Expert skills in design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Invision, Zeplin and Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Professional knowledge of web and digital standards and limitations
  • Understanding of front-end web and mobile technologies such as CSS/HTML/Javascript and general understanding of back end technologies that are required to build out experiences - Partnering well with technology is a must.
  • Experience with Animation / Motion Graphics is a plus
  • Attention-to-detail, strong organizational skills and time management
  • Ability to perform in a fast paced, high stress iterative design process under minimal supervision 
  • Customer-focused, with experience using design research methods to uncover customer insights - Are able to take those insights and define the desired customer outcomes
  • Excellent command of user experience, service design, design principles, problem-framing skills, and beautiful visual design skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills - Strong ability to communicate design concept ideas through sketches, prototypes and wireframes. Experienced and comfortable with presenting work to executives and large groups. Strong ability to communicate complicated concepts and bring clarity to stakeholders and team members
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently but also collaborative and driven by group critique. Proven track record as an expert in design who can collaborate well with other functions
  • A self-starter with a pulse on what is relevant in culture, design and technology and can investigate, innovate, and develop upon digital design trends
  • Experience working in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment
  • Organized, disciplined, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in leading up, down, sideways
  • Robust negotiation skills

Travel Requirement:  Some travel may be required.

Position Location: This position can report into our Santa Clara, CA Headquarters or it can be a Remote position within the United States.

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer, the starting salary (includes on-target earnings = base + on target incentives for sales roles) is expected to be between $151,400/yr - $222,700/yr.
