Senior Instructional Designer

Cox Automotive is currently looking for a Sr. Instructional Designer to join our team in Atlanta or select remote locations.
Your Role:
You will be responsible for the successful analysis of training needs as well as the design and development of educational training materials for the Cox Automotive Sales organization. You will analyze assigned projects to determine learning objectives and design and develop materials for delivery methods, including instructor-led, virtual synchronous, and asynchronous environments. You will have proficiency in rapid instructional design tools (software) and processes (theories and models) as well as adult learning theory and experience writing learning objectives and assessments using multiple levels of Bloom's Taxonomy and Kirkpatrick's Model. In addition, you will build and maintain strong partnerships with the Sales Training team and various groups within Corporate and Sales teams to develop and provide technologically innovative, engaging, and instructionally sound learning deliverables for our sales organization.
What you'll do:
Your key activities will include the analysis of learning needs, design, and development of effective and engaging in-class and virtual learning materials focused heavily on business development, product knowledge, process and tool use, and reinforcement. In addition, he or she will be responsible for coaching and mentoring Instructional Designers on best practices, innovation, and industry standards. This individual supports all sales teams across Cox Automotive.
Analyze, design, and develop technologically appropriate, innovative, and engaging sales training materials
- Analyze the training need to develop accurate and measurable learning objectives
- Effectively use technology to create innovative and engaging learning materials
- Partner closely with project teams and training lead to ensure business needs are met and training strategies are aligned with learning deliverables
Maintain knowledge of adult learning theory and industry standards
- Consistently seeks to improve learning materials through innovation, advancements in the eLearning industry, and other opportunities for improvement
- Attends conferences and participates in speaking engagements as a thought leader within the industry
Serve as leader and mentor to other Instructional Designers
- Develop and manage the peer review process
- Implement and manage templates and standards
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and four years of experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and two years of experience, a Ph.D. and up to one year of experience, or eight years of experience in a related field.
Preferred:
- 5+ years of Instructional Design experience
- Ability to travel as needed up to 25%.
- Proven experience analyzing needs, designing, and developing learning deliverables for blended, virtual, self-paced, and in-class delivery
- Experience with and ability to create educational audio and video, including script writing and storyboarding
- Demonstrable advanced communication skills (verbal, written, presentation)
- Experience with graphic design for learning (documentation, presentations, guides, self-paced modules, etc.)
- Proficiency with technology suites such as MS Office, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia Studio, Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), WebEx, and Learning Management Systems
