Our team has been and is currently designing a wide array of interesting projects, including new F-35 Hangars, pilot training facilities, State Library rehabilitation, petrol-chemical facilities, and new hotels. Our multi-discipline team works together to deliver the complete package of Architecture, Civil, Structures, Mechanical, and Electrical/Communications. Our team is also executing these projects using cloud hosted B.I.M. techniques, the most innovative design and construction delivery method in use today. This process encourages collaboration within the design team and with the builder (contractor).
DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International is seeking a Cybersecurity Professional to join either our Midvale/Salt Lake City, Utah or Denver, Colorado office. Remote work from within the continental United States is acceptable. Successful candidates will be an enthusiastic professional with responsibilities including design and documentation for a broad range of design projects that are made for Federal Contractors. Michael Baker has a current focus on growing Federal, Department of Defense, and International project opportunities, along with market-driven diversification including Healthcare, Transit, and Adaptive Re-Use. The candidate will work within a Cybersecurity design team with multi-disciplinary, collaborative project design teams with architects, interior designers, civil engineers, and building systems engineers. Qualified candidates will be asked to demonstrate creative problem-solving, show initiative to learn new concepts, possess excellent organizational skills, work in a team environment with licensed electrical engineers, and own a basic understanding of construction documents, facility-related Cybersecurity standards and constructability. This candidate will develop comprehensive Cybersecurity information and communications technology (ICT) systems designs for buildings including but not limited to telecommunications and facility related control systems. Growth toward more advanced Cybersecurity design and services opportunities are planned for the near future.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform complex analysis, design, and evaluation for a specific area of technical expertise which primarily includes Cybersecurity for facility related control systems in support of project objectives
  • Leverage Cybersecurity knowledge to design, review, and edit project design plans and specifications
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and leadership to determine assistance required in plan preparation, evaluation of project conditions, design changes, and reports
  • Provide advice as a Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) role to internal disciplines and leadership as well as external clients and their Cybersecurity SMEs
  • Determine cost and time estimates to internal project managers and leadership for utilization forecasts that will be presented to external clients
  • Perform client and project needs assessments, determine and discuss potential solutions, and ensure satisfactory customer service
  • Prepare and present technical and program information for review conferences/(Charrettes) for team members, management, and clients
  • Perform internal technical reviews and other quality control of analysis, design, and review of design and specification documents to assure the quality of the assigned deliverables
  • Coordinate and perform field work in order to gather data, conditions, and requirements in support of Cybersecurity aspects of project work
  • Maintain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification and current working knowledge of government and industry Cybersecurity design criteria and standards, as well as other applicable certifications
  • Research, develop, and implement new approaches to solve reactive problems identified in the project workflow
  • Identify granular risk framework requirements to inform in-flight and future project need
  • Other duties as assigned

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • B.S. in Information Technology, Information Security, or Engineering desired
  • 5-7 years of related experience
  • 2+ years direct experience specializing in Federal Risk Management Framework (RMF) procedures and processes desired
  • Experience evaluating and applying NIST standards highly desired
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II approved baseline certification(s) (i.e., Security+, GSEC, SSCP, etc) required
  • CISSP credential preferred
  • Experience with DoD Authorization to Operate (ATO) Processes and Procedures preferred
  • Strong understanding of IT security infrastructure technologies desired
  • Facility-Related Control System technologies and functionalities desired
  • Effective visual/verbal communication skills are essential. Candidate should possess a proficient understanding of interrelationships among design/engineering disciplines, clients, and constructors
  • Solid organizational and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail


COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $70,000-$106,000. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate. This role is also eligible for a discretionary bonus based upon corporate and individual performance.
