We are looking for an experienced design executive to join the Artwork & Design Systems group, reporting to the Executive Director. Initially, your responsibility will be to continue on improvements to our design systems and facilitating the growth of that team. Ultimately, as a design leader in the group you will contribute to guidance and leadership across the larger team and practice. You'll lead a hardworking team of Designers and UX professionals, focused on building a best in class design practice built on the foundation of reusable frameworks, routines as well as a centralized Design System. The Design Systems team is a cross-functional team responsible for scaling design practices across the entire Product Design organization for all our products.
Your team amplifies the impact of design throughout Disney Streaming by enabling designers to focus on work and facilitating communication and visibility amongst design and its partners. You have experience building and managing design operations at scale, and will use your experience to architect a design team that provides the glue between design, engineering and marketing.
This is an opportunity to be at the center of the Design process for our Streaming products - collaborating with the very best in design, product and technology to help create and drive the product (systems) that shapes industry-leading products used by millions across the world. You will be joining the design leadership team that built Disney+, Hulu and Star+. Similarly, you will lead a team contributing to several strategic programs and frameworks to support and delight the entire Product Design organization, helping to create a sense of community, support and collaboration.
Responsibilities :

• Lead a cross functional team of 10+ designers and program managers
• Work with Design leadership to develop the strategy and roadmap of transformation initiatives across the entire product design organization
• Set forth the strategy and initiatives for the Design Systems teams
• Facilitate hiring as well as mentorship and career development
• Assess and improve flows of communication from working teams up to design leadership, and outward to cross-functional partners, the executive team, and the company including team health reporting and support
• Help grow and champion Design Systems adoption and standards that ensure brand consistency and UX quality across teams and practice areas.
• Build strategic partnerships and relationships across the DS organization overall and beyond
• Collaborate with HRBP and recruiting partners to refine recruiting pipelines/process and attract world-class design talent
• Provide clarity when it’s needed, help your ICs work more effectively and encourage them to implement the most desirable design solution.
• Represent the team, and its design strategies, to stakeholders across the org, including experience engaging with executives up to the CEO.
• Drive the business value of design by measuring and reporting design-specific outcomes for the full program.

Basic Qualifications :

• 10+ years of experience in design and project leadership, design systems, design program management and delivery
• Deep experience in platform / device design patterns and templates, design thinking, product design, technology enterprise project or program management, service design or design strategy
• Experience partnering with Product and Engineering teams to launch cohesive experiences across multiple platforms
• Technical understanding of capabilities and limitations for multiple platforms such as web, mobile (iOS/Android), and Living Room devices (tvOS, Roku)
• Proven track record of advocacy of accessibility requirements in a delivery model
• Understanding and domain experience in the development of design processes and systems including digital software development, device technology and artwork
• Working with partner teams such as engineering, operations, product and marketing
• Understanding of change management practices for scaling teams
• Strategic acumen and the foresight to anticipate complex, cross functional problems
• Ability to manage cross functional teams with many stakeholders within design and outside, across business units
• Exceptional communication at every level of the business, influencing executives and inspiring team members

Required Education :

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field
