Associate User Experience Designer - Ansible Automation Platform
About the job
The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for an Associate User Experience (UX) Designer with experience in UX design who can work with a cross-functional team to deliver desirable software experiences for Red Hat to join us in Boston, MA. In this role, you will consider an end-to-end user experience that spans onboarding, usage, and support of our offerings. You will work with a team of researchers, designers, and front-end developers to build user experiences in your product area. As an Associate User Experience Designer, you will partner with stakeholders across Red Hat to gather business requirements and present recommendations.
What you will do
- Participate in design thinking, journey mapping, and other workshops to elicit requirements, identify priorities, and inform design
- Participate in user research to inform or validate design decisions
- Understand and communicate the information architecture, workflows, and processes surrounding the user experience
- Create mockups, wireframes, and other design deliverables
- Build relationships with developers to support successful implementation
- Identify usability issues and make solid recommendations for improvement
- Engage with PatternFly, our community-built design system, as both a user and a contributor
- Manage the end-to-end user experience for a product or product line
- Understand and communicate the information architecture (IA), workflows, and processes surrounding the UX
- Create mockups, wireframes, and prototypes
- Perform user testing to inform or validate design decisions
- Identify product usability issues and make solid recommendations for improvement
- Work directly with development to deliver strategies, specs, and assets
What you will bring
- Motivated to guide user experience through every step of the process for our lines of offerings
- Ability to collaborate across teams; comfortable explaining your ideas and process to other people
- Understanding of when and how to use data to inform design decisions
- Bachelor's degree or higher in interaction design, visual design, human computer interaction, human factors, computer science, information systems, or a closely related area
- 1+ years of experience with user interface (UI) design and experience designing web apps
- Ability to manage projects and work across teams with minimal supervision
- Experience with agile development and open source projects is a plus
- A portfolio that clearly demonstrates all of the above - include links to your work in your resume
