Purpose
The Design Technology Manager focuses on implementation, promotion and elevation of Revit and BIM usage and best practices and other digital design workflows. This is a multifaceted position that focuses on technical support and execution at the project level, training, research, and development. The Design Technology Manager will develop and maintain strategies for advancement of Revit and other BIM best practices. The ideal candidate is an experienced design professional with a deep knowledge of Revit and a strong knowledge of the entire design and construction process.
WHAT YOU DO
- Develop, maintain, and drive improvement of internal Revit templates and practices
- Develop and maintain standards and templates including but no limited to tags, annotation tools, legends, etc.,
- Work with the internal team to develop, maintain, and drive improvement of internal Revit drawing standards & best practices
- Organize and maintain BIM Collaborate Pro for design teams and train new hires on its usage
- Facilitate coordination of consultant team’s models to integrate with internal models using BIM Collaborate Pro
- Provide basic Revit training to team members to maintain baseline software knowledge and day-to-day support/assistance to team members
- Provide continuing Revit software training to teams regarding new releases and added functions
- Provide support of other firm -wide design software including Revit, Twinmotion, AutoCAD, Sketchup, and Enscape.
- Work with IT Consultants & Design Staff to make sure hardware is kept up to date with the latest software & upgrades.
- Actively support project teams within design phases helping to execute design deliverables and serving as point of contact with technical experts from other partners
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, or closely related field
- 8-10 years minimum experience in the AEC industry
- 6-8 years minimum utilizing Autodesk Revit on architectural design projects (assisting in execution of design deliverables)
- 4 years minimum managing Revit & BIM Collaborate (BIM 360) internal firm-wide usage and best practices
- WELL AP certification, NCIDQ certification, and other industry experience as needed
- Expert knowledge of Revit and Twinmotion and a comprehensive understanding of the software’s usage as a design and documentation tool
- Elevated knowledge to support teams use of AutoCAD and Sketchup as secondary drawing/modeling programs
- Elevated knowledge to support teams use of Enscape as primary in-house rendering software to be used as plug-in with Revit and Sketchup
- Ability to work independently and take charge of multiple challenges simultaneously
- Strong verbal and visual communication, organizational and collaborative skills with the strength to lead others in software’s usage
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, interior design, or closely related field
- 8-10 years experience in the AEC industry
