Job Description

We are currently looking for a new member to join our Mechanical Engineering Department, to collaborate on achieving our objectives related to Design for Reliability.

In your role, you will:

  • Offer support the development of new electronic control units (ECU) for the automotive industry, as part of a cross domain development team,
  • Oversee the respective development projects as a reliability expert from acquisition to the series production of the products,
  • Be the interface to internal and external customers within a global team spread across different locations like Germany, Australia, or North America,
  • Collaborate with suppliers, research, and advanced development, as well as production and quality management, to bring new designs and/or processes to series maturity,
  • Derive loads and damage mechanisms for defined design elements of the control units and define robustness-enhancing measures together with developers, using V-Model,
  • Assess the loads concerning the load-bearing capacity of the respective design elements according to internal or external standards and regulations or independently develop necessary methods within the state of the art,
  • Demonstrate product robustness concerning common international standards and customer specifications and develop the necessary test plans in close collaboration with customers.

Qualifications

  • Completed technical degree (Dipl. Ing. or M.Sc., preferably with a PhD) in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, physics, chemistry, or a comparable field;
  • Formal training in Reliability topics topics is a plus;
  • Experience in reliability design in control unit development, e.g., load derivation and reliability analysis for electronic components, PCBs, housing parts, assembly and connection technology, etc., under thermal, thermomechanical, static mechanical, dynamic mechanical, and corrosive loads, humidity, and media exposure;
  • Proficiency in MS Office, method development, data analysis, and/or numerical simulation with MATLAB/Python/Mathematica or similar tools, statistical analysis concepts;
  • Experience in using requirements management databases: IBM Doors/Doors Next Gen, etc.
  • Experience in reliability design methods within the automotive industry (Automotive Spice, FAM, FMEA, DRBFM, DFSS, PPAP, 5-Why method, 8D);
  • Knowledge of common analysis methods, such as microscopy, X-ray, SEM, etc.
  • Project management experience and the use of MS Project;
  • Knowledge of common numerical simulation processes for collaboration within product teams is advantageous;
  • You would be a perfect match in our team if you are an independent, analytical, communicative, and reliable person.


Languages:

  • English - Proficient User, both written and spoken, is mandatory;
  • German, Hungarian- not mandatory, but can represent an advantage.
