Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Design Quality Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the Design Quality Manager the Design Quality Engineer  is responsible for develops, implements, coordinates, and performs Design Quality Assurance program to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Lead quality activities throughout NPI, including pilot builds per week when required.

  • Collect, research, evaluate, and present information on production capabilities, manufacturing issues, and new product design.

  • Develop and update the Design Quality Assurance Program, defining control areas and operational procedures.

  • Facilitate and lead cross-functional (CFT) meetings to establish production plans and engineering deliverables.

  • Interface directly with customers on technical/quality topics, improvement initiatives, and audits.

  • Manage customer audits, internal audits, and compliance/regulatory audits.

  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and drive corrective actions for design and manufacturing issues.

  • Interpret control plans, FMEAs, build plans, and develop inspection plans for NPIs.

  • Collaborate with suppliers to address component quality and supply chain issues.

  • Particpates and mananges the Design Site Corrective Action process.

  • Visits and confers with representatives of material and component vendors to obtain information related to supply quality.

  • Confers with engineers about quality assurance of new products designed, and manufactured products on market to rectify problems.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • BA/BS as an industrial engineer mechatronic, engineer, or similar.

  • Experience in a similar position as a Design Quality Engineering, Product Engineering, Program Management, or Supplier Quality.

  • Electronic industry experience. (components, PCBA, electronic product development).

  • Solid knowledge of Core Tools, APQP, FMEA, Control Plan, and problem-solving methodologies (8D, Ishikawa, RCA).

  • Strong NPI experience — not only sustaining engineering.

  • Ability to manage multiple pilot runs and high-pressure timelines.

  • Excellent communication skills with customers and suppliers.

  • Experience working with technical drawings, inspection plans, and functional test requirements.

  • Advanced English skills.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

  • Microsoft Office, some ERP (BAAN, FlexFlow).

  • Availability to travel (10% per month)
