The Design & Planning Specialist designs, analyses, plans, and modifies network components supporting customer communication implementation activities. Develops and evaluates network performance criteria and measurement methods. Prepares the analysis of the short or long-term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission, and signalling. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops alternative routing scenarios and changes in required sequence of network activities. Conducts economic and population growth studies to determine impact on network capacity and development plan projections. Performs the end-to-end design activities (including surveys, design itself, and as-built) required for a physical network deployment.
Lead the end-to-end integration of complex software solutions across Nokia Labs, Customer Labs, and Production environments.
Contribute to Solution Description (SD), customer requirements, architecture documentation, and develop Low-Level Design (LLD) documents from architecture and HLDs.
Design, develop, and execute Methods of Procedure (MOPs) to ensure consistent, "first-time-right" deployments, migrations, and software onboarding (CNFs) on Cloud Native platforms.
Develop and execute Acceptance Test Plans (ATPs), support customer acceptance activities, and perform vertical and horizontal integration.
Troubleshoot technical issues, support First Office Application (FOA) activities, provide timely resolutions, and ensure successful production deployments.
Build trusted technical advisory relationships with customer engineering stakeholders while working autonomously and applying best practices to improve products, services, and delivery outcomes.
Act as a technical leader, mentor, and advisor by guiding team members, contributing to task forces, and leading complex technical initiatives and migration activities.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
4+ years of telecom experience with Core Network deployment, integration, and validation (mandatory).
Strong knowledge of Cloud Native technologies, DevOps, CI/CD, and hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm (mandatory).
Experience with Linux, basic shell scripting, TCP/IP networking, TLS certificates, Kubernetes firewall configuration, and editing YAML/JSON configuration files.
Good understanding of telecom protocols and interfaces, including IPv4/IPv6, HTTP/HTTPS, REST, SOAP, LDAP, SPML, Diameter, XML, and YAML/JSON.
Strong troubleshooting skills, including Wireshark log analysis, IP connectivity debugging, and network issue resolution.
Experience executing functional, regression, sanity, load, and performance testing, including simulator/emulator setup and environment configuration.
Experience preparing, adapting, and executing Methods of Procedure (MOPs) across lab, pre-production, and customer production environments.
Highly desirable experience with automation, Python, shell scripting, Apache JMeter, Ansible, Chef, Kibana, SoapUI, Harbor Registry, MULTUS, and DANM Networks.
Strong verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in global, cross-functional teams.
