The Ready To Drink (RTD) category is growing exponentially with +20% CAGR expected in the next 5 years. Higher quality product propositions have improved the category image and accelerated growth of RTDs serving an unmet consumer need for convenient drinks. RTDs offer Pernod Ricard an opportunity to recruit new consumers, build loyalty to our spirits brands, drive incremental business.

Pernod Ricard has set a significant ambition for spirit based RTDs & Convenience leveraging our spirits brands to offer premium RTD & Convenience propositions. To deliver the ambition, a Global RTD & Convenience Business Unit (GBU) was created on the 1st of July 2021. The scope of the RTD GBU is currently 12 Pernod Ricard brands selected based on their international potential in the RTD category.  The innovation scope covers core, adjacent and breakthrough innovation.

Reporting to the Global RTD Portfolio & Commercial Director, the Design Marketing Manager RTDs & Convenience leads all design workstreams from restages to new VI, for all Brands & Markets, partnering closely with Ops & Business Acceleration teams, Legal, Finance, Brand Companies, Market Companies and external creative agencies or our internal studio.

Experience in transforming consumer and shopper insights into powerful brand range architectures and packaging designs will be key.

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Implement key projects & develop extensions to nurture existing platforms

Fuel existing platforms with seasonal packs & long-term innovations.

Support the expansion in new markets with new flavors & pack formats.

2. Lead design development of new strategic innovations

Assess and lead design workstreams aligned with Mother Brands’ strategy.

Make sure most recent guidelines are applied and leverage distinctive assets to build global awareness.

Deep dive into local competition to ensure relevancy of our innovations.

Land strong and future-proof VI, with CI CoE support.

3. Provide overall design support & leadership

Onboard & align key stakeholders (Brands VPs, Market CEOs, BU CEO…).

Socialize within the team and key stakeholders the principles on how to build a winning RTD design system and our WoW.

Bring strategic and creative input (implement processes to smooth design workflow, find the best agencies & implement price matrix, involving Procurement when needed).

Ensure thorough budget follow-up (approx. 510K€).

In more details, your missions are:

  • Support the Global Director in shaping the long-term marketing ambition, with a clear portfolio strategy

  • Transform consumer and shopper insights into powerful brand range architecture and design systems: both for current and future RTD propositions; both for primary and secondary packaging.  

  • Ensure global brand consistency of design while being mindful of different regional nuances (both cultural regulatory and legal).

  • Support the innovation team: packcepts generation, consumer validation.  

  • Drive alignment with key stakeholders: Brands, Markets, Crystal.

  • Support the development of an RTD Playbook how to win In RTDs.

  • Act internally as a key go-to contact for all questions related to design expertise.

  • Be the guardian of the RTD portfolio VI strategy – supervising & approving all local workstreams led by local counterparts (Australia, US, etc.) keeping a global overview for optimal global coherence.

  • Build strong relationships with Brand owners to ensure smooth projects delivery and awareness of Brands’ updates (brand world restage…)

The role will be partnering closely with external design agencies, internal Operations Team, Business Acceleration, Legal, and Finance, Brand Companies, Regions and Markets.

  • You hold a university degree in Marketing, Design, Business, or a related field.

  • You bring 8+ years of experience in Marketing roles, within FMCG, beverages, or a similarly fast-paced international industry.

  • You have strong experience developing primary and secondary packaging across multiple international markets.

  • You are experienced in innovation development and building compelling brand range architectures.

  • You understand how to translate consumer and shopper insights into impactful design solutions.

  • You are experienced in NPD development and building range architecture

  • You have excellent project management skills and can successfully lead multiple workstreams simultaneously.

  • You demonstrate strong strategic thinking combined with creativity and design sensitivity.

  • You are comfortable influencing senior stakeholders and driving alignment across diverse teams.

  • You have strong financial awareness and experience managing project budgets.

  • You thrive in cross-functional and international environments.

  • Experience working with or within the US market would be considered a strong advantage.

  • You are collaborative, agile, detail-oriented, and able to navigate ambiguity with confidence.
