Role Summary:
The Design Manager will lead and supervise the Design Team and manage the design process from development through site execution. The role requires regular site attendance to ensure the approved design is properly implemented, with close follow-up and coordination with contractors, consultants and relevant stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead, manage, supervise the Design Team and the Works execution on site.
• Manage design deliverables, coordination and approvals across multiple projects.
• Review design drawings, specifications, materials and technical submissions.
• Oversee FF&E projects, including design development, material selection, procurement coordination, installation and handover.
• Attend sites regularly to monitor and supervise the execution of the approved design.
• Ensure the contractor’s work complies with the approved drawings, specifications, materials and required quality standards.
• Follow up with contractors on design-related matters and resolve site issues in coordination with the relevant disciplines.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, samples, mock-ups and RFIs.
• Coordinate architectural, interior design, MEP and specialist requirements.
• Monitor design progress, identify risks and delays, and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Attend coordination and progress meetings and provide clear status updates.
• Support site inspections, snagging, close-out and final handover.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design or a related field.
• 15–20 years of relevant experience, including solid experience in a Design Manager role and Site Supervision.
• Strong experience in design management, interior fit-out and FF&E projects.
• Proven experience supervising design teams and following design execution on site.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, materials and multidisciplinary coordination.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
• Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC is preferred.
• Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder-management skills, presentable.
• Proficiency in relevant design and project-management software.
