Bradken is seeking a Design Engineer to join our Las Condes, Santiago-based team and support the design, development and customisation of mill liner solutions for customers across Chile.

About the role

Working closely with customers and our Sales, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Marketing & Technology teams, you will translate operational needs into practical, manufacturable engineering solutions.

You will contribute across the full product lifecycle, from site assessment and concept development through to modelling, simulation, validation and implementation.

What you’ll do

  • Design and customise mill liner products to meet customer, operational and manufacturing requirements.
    • Produce solid models, detailed drawings, engineering calculations and technical documentation.
    • Use CAD, FEA and DEM tools to analyse product performance and support design decisions.
    • Participate in customer site visits, field evaluations, reverse engineering and product trials.
    • Provide technical advice, presentations and problem-solving support to customers and internal teams.
    • Support new product development and the commercialisation of improved engineering solutions.
    • Ensure models, drawings and specifications meet Bradken, customer and applicable industry standards.
    • Maintain accurate product and design information within Bradken’s engineering and product lifecycle systems.
    • Work across global teams to share technical knowledge and deliver consistent engineering outcomes.

What you’ll bring

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
    • 3 or more years of engineering design experience within mining, metal casting, heavy manufacturing or related industries.
    • Practical experience developing or customising products for customer applications.
    • Intermediate to advanced CAD capability (Unigraphics NX or similar), engineering drawings and solid modelling.
    • Demonstrated experience with FEA and DEM simulations.
    • Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials and design for manufacturability.
    • Ability to manage multiple engineering projects and competing priorities.
    • Confidence working directly with customers and solving technical issues at operational sites.
    • Professional English proficiency, both written and verbal, for global collaboration is desirable but not mandatory.
    • Physical capability and willingness to travel and move around mine sites performing inspections, measurements and technical support activities.

Experience with grinding mills, mill liners or other mineral processing equipment will be highly regarded.
