Join our growing R&D team in Niš as a Design Engineer and help develop innovative automotive technologies at Johnson Electric, a global leader in motion solutions.

In this role, you will contribute to the development of Thermal Management Modules and associated subsystems for New Energy Vehicles (NEV), supporting the complete product lifecycle from concept development through validation, industrialization, production launch and series support. You will be responsible for design, simulation, validation, technical coordination, and cross-functional engineering activities to achieve quality, timing, cost and performance targets, while also supporting cost reduction, cost avoidance and value engineering initiatives throughout product development and serial production.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop and maintain 2D and 3D product designs using CAD tools

  • Support concept development, feasibility studies and design optimization activities

  • Prepare engineering drawings, CAD models and technical documentation

  • Support engineering simulations and interpret analysis results

  • Support DVP/PVP preparation, validation testing and prototype activities

  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities

  • Execute/Support DFMEA, compliance and engineering change management activities

  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams during industrialization and production launch

  • Participate in technical discussions with customers, suppliers and internal teams

  • Contribute to continuous improvement and cost optimization initiatives

Our requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related engineering discipline

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in R&D development of mechatronic products

  • Knowledge of CAD systems and product development processes

  • Understanding of engineering simulations, testing and validation activities

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing technologies, engineering materials and design for manufacturing principles

  • Analytical and data-driven mindset, with strong problem-solving and teamwork skills

  • Fluent English communication skills

Skills Required
