Moog Space and Defense – Power & Data division is a leader in developing custom electro-mechanical devices for aerospace and military applications. We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our growing product development team. If you are passionate about solving challenging problems and creating innovative solutions, we want to hear from you!

In this role you will report to the Site Engineering Manager, and will have an onsite work schedule in Blacksburg, VA

To be considered for Design Engineer, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.

  • 3 years of design experience. Design experience with Electro-mechanical devices is preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Capability to manage various tasks through development, prototype, and production phases with attention to detail.

  • Experience using analytical and problem-solving skills

As a Design Engineer, you will:

  • Review customer specifications and develop design approaches to meet requirements.

  • Support the business development group with technical proposals.

  • Optimize designs using Speed or Ansys FEA tools; collaborate with designers to create solid models and detailed prints.

  • Conduct internal and external design reviews.

  • Support the model shop during prototype building and qualification testing.

  • Prepare drawing packages for final production release.

  • Address technical questions from customers.

  • Foster innovation in both design and manufacturing techniques.

Salary Range Transparency:

Blacksburg, VA $70,000.00–$90,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
