Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Design Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will get to design, build, and test in-house equipment, develop supporting technical documentation, and provide hands-on customer support—including field deployment—for mission-critical systems.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Designing and developing ruggedized/embedded equipment configurations to meet program and customer requirements
- Building out and assembling equipment in-house, including integration and testing of hardware components
- Writing and maintaining clear technical documentation, including build guides, deployment write-ups, and configuration references
- Troubleshooting hardware and system issues, providing responsive customer support to internal teams and end users
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, program management, field support) to ensure equipment meets performance, size, weight, and power requirements
- Supporting equipment testing and validation prior to deployment
- Traveling to field locations as needed to deploy, install, configure, and support equipment on-site
- Identifying and evaluating alternative components or vendors when existing solutions do not meet program needs
- Maintaining accurate records of equipment configurations, inventory, and lifecycle status
