This position is responsible for design and release of valve & associated Bill of material.
Key responsibilities
- Performs work that is varied and complex, under minimal supervision. Consistently applies knowledge of functional concepts and prior experience to work assignments.
- Closely interact with customer or GTEC job coordinator, gather all relevant information for each assignment.
- Conduct specification review to identify alternate design and close reference documents, communicate to customer or GTEC job coordinator if any discrepancy in specification, references or mark ups; suggest best possible solutions in consultation with Specialist/team lead.
- Follow established engineering standards and procedures to produce consistent and reliable results.
- Refer international standards, project specifications, drafting and design practices approved by design authority and latest approved document by design authority.
- Check each design for compliance to job specifications; design form, fit, and function; safety in assembly, maintenance and operation; method and ease of manufacture; method and ease of assembly; appropriate materials of construction; load and stress due to assembly, testing and operation.
- Perform self-checking to ensure high quality on deliverables. Work with Team lead to conduct critical design reviews on high complexity level designs.
- Deliver clear and complete drawings/analysis reports/documentation/part list/engineering solutions, as per the deliverables of the assignment, ensuring On-time delivery and quality. Timely update the customer/GTEC job coordinator on schedule and effort variances, if any.
- Provide able guidance to associate/temporary staff to perform their task. Perform part list creation for spare or retrofit orders and complete part list creation against sale orders. Provide engineering solution to Application/Sales engineers.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 to 8 years of Valve industry design experience or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 7 to 10 years of Valve (Control Valve, ON/OFF) or related industry design experience.
- Proficient in CAD design and drafting in any of the 3D CAD software, preferably Solidworks /Inventor.
- Knowledge of ASME / API/ DIN design standards and material specifications
- Detailed knowledge of design of Valves or related piping equipment’s.
- Detailed knowledge of pneumatic and electro-pneumatic control instruments
