Internship Overview
As a Design Engineering Intern at GENESYS, you will work alongside Project Engineers to assist in producing construction drawings and designs for fabrication and installation of industrial process equipment. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience on large-scale engineering projects, collaborate across multiple departments, and enhance your technical and professional skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Engineers in creating clear and precise fabrication detail drawings and installation layouts based on project scope and specifications.
- Support the design of mechanical equipment, incorporating relevant standards, codes, and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, including sales, project management, fabrication, safety, and installation.
- Check drawings for accuracy and completeness, including performing self-review of your work.
- Opportunity to visit jobsites for field measurements and assist in installation, start-up, and troubleshooting equipment as needed.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Inventor; SolidWorks skills are also acceptable.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office programs.
- Basic understanding of mechanical mechanisms, machine design, and fabrication processes.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to apply engineering concepts to real-world scenarios.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work in a collaborative team environment.
