About the Role
We're seeking a Design Engineer (Staff Software Engineer – Frontend) to join a small, focused team building a next-generation web application that leverages AI to create visual experiences. This isn’t a typical frontend role — you’ll be inventing new UI paradigms, redefining how users interact with AI-generated content, and pushing the limits of web interfaces.
This position blends top-tier technical skills with a strong sense of design and user experience.
What You’ll DoA typical week might include:
Collaborating with designers to prototype new ways for users to interact with AI-generated visuals
Creating buttery-smooth animations to make complex operations feel intuitive and magical
Troubleshooting and solving performance issues in the frontend rendering pipeline
Brainstorming innovative UI patterns with the product team
Building reusable, scalable components for a shared design system
Squashing bugs and improving implementation quality in the process
Reviewing code with thoughtful, constructive feedback
7+ years of experience building and shipping high-quality frontend products
Expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, and React
A track record of launching polished, user-loved web applications
Proven ability to translate designs into pixel-perfect, responsive, interactive UI
Clean, maintainable, and scalable code practices
A strong eye for visual design details and interface polish
And yes—you definitely know how to center a
Obsess over animation timing, interaction details, and transitions
Get excited about inventing new UI patterns for emerging technologies
Have built products where engineering and design excellence meet
Instinctively notice and fix things when they’re even slightly off
Enjoy close collaboration with designers and product thinkers
Believe elegant code and elegant design go hand-in-hand
Have redesigned an app just for the challenge (or fun) of improving the experience
