The Role
Design and detail automotive components using SolidWorks, produce drawings, BOQs and calculations, coordinate with operations, QA, sales and suppliers, support inspections and testing, incorporate as-built revisions into CAD, and provide technical assistance across engineering, production and sales teams.

Roles and Responsibilities
- To attend job kick off meetings and receive engineering job file from operations coordinator.
- To review and understand the job requirements. (reviewing of both Engineering and Sales files in order to establish the correct input data).
- Discuss the job, design input and output requirements and relationship, concept and long lead material requirements etc. with Engineering Manager/ Engineering Director.
- To finalize the preliminary general drawings and load calculations and review with Engineering Manager/ Engineering Director.
- To prepare BOQ’S, drawings, calculations, and other project related documents.
- To communicate with the departments involved in the process, to identify and search for the optimum solution in any related problems that may occur (design, materials or production)
- To pre-approve Orders for materials as instructed by Engineering Director and to be part of the materials checking process when received if required by the Quality Inspector.
- To attend Inspection and Testing of products on level 2 and 3 projects.
- To provide technical assistance in discussions with customers and suppliers as required by Engineering Director.
- Carry out review of completed jobs and submit brief report to Engineering Manager/ Engineering Director.
- Incorporate changes and as built drawings for closed jobs in the CAD System.
- Attend Engineering, Design Review and Production meetings as required.
- Technical assistance to Sales/Estimation departments as assigned by Engineering Manager/ Engineering Director.
- Assistance for Operations department for as built/construction specifications.
- Possesses a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Holds a minimum of 4 years of experience in automotive design, with a strong emphasis on SolidWorks.
- Demonstrates proficiency in using SolidWorks for 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and assembly design.
- Exhibits a solid understanding of automotive systems, including chassis, powertrain, and body structures.
- Shows a strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application in design and manufacturing.
- Possesses excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex design issues and propose effective solutions.
- Has prior experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure automotive engineering environment.
- Displays a proactive approach to learning and staying current with the latest automotive technologies and design trends.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in automotive design with strong emphasis on SolidWorks
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and assembly design
- Solid understanding of automotive systems (chassis, powertrain, body structures)
- Strong understanding and application of GD&T principles
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for cross-functional collaboration
