Your Role
- Assist the Senior Engineer and serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) when assigned, planning project layouts and integrating building systems into unified designs for client review and approval
- Coordinate with other disciplines and actively participate in internal and external project meetings to ensure alignment and resolve issues
- Prepare and supervise the development of scaled drawings, specifications, and contract documents for building contractors, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Perform engineering calculations using Excel or engineering software related to mechanical and building systems design
- Perform construction administration duties, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and periodic on-site observations to monitor compliance with plans
- Lead field work activities such as verification, assessments, and troubleshooting for building system performance and installation
- Review calculation outputs from engineering software for accuracy and technical compliance
- Support technical development initiatives and participate in resolving complex engineering design challenges
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Valid Cédula Profesional in Mechanical Engineering or related field required
- 5+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering role, preferably within building systems or MEP environments
- Proficiency in Revit required; experience with mechanical system modeling is a plus
- Ability to speak, understand, and write in English is required
- Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles
- Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents
- Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations
- Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous
Skills Required
