We're seeking a Design Engineer II to support electric utility distribution projects across West-Central Florida. You'll work on Storm Protection Plans (SPP), pole replacements, lateral and feeder hardening (reconductoring), and highway relocation projects while designing reliable overhead and underground distribution systems. What You’ll Do:
Apply technical expertise to develop engineering designs that meet project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
Collaborate with Designers and Drafters to complete design packages, calculations, and drawings.
Support the preparation of simple to moderately complex designs and contribute to larger, more complex projects.
Lead discipline-specific design efforts on simple projects and assist with technical analyses on complex work.
Utilize CAD and engineering analysis software to support project deliverables.
Communicate scope, cost, schedule, and quality challenges to team leads and project managers.
Interact with clients on a limited basis and ensure clear, professional communication.
Conduct self-reviews and participate in peer and quality control reviews to ensure accuracy.
Support fielding activities and perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering at ABET accredited university
- 1-2 years of electrical distribution design experience
- Knowledge of the software BOUD and Maximo
- Client Facing Experience / construction support.
