Stryker is seeking a Design Engineer for our Customized Implants division in Ventura, California. Here, we specialize in designing custom temporomandibular joint (TMJ) implants that restore jaw function and transform lives. As a Design Engineer, you will gain hands-on experience in a collaborative environment, working closely with experienced designers and clinical specialists to create patient-specific solutions.
What You Will Do
Design patient-specific TMJ implants in accordance with established engineering procedures and surgeon preference listings
Evaluate CT scans and anatomical models for image quality, reference geometry, and suitability for design
Create 3D implant designs using CAD software based on surgeon input and patient-specific anatomy
Prepare design review packages, manufacturing drawings, and surgeon approval schematics
Partner with surgeons and field teams to incorporate patient-specific requirements into final designs
Coordinate with manufacturing and customer service teams to support design transfer and production readiness
Serve as a point of contact for internal stakeholders and clinical partners regarding design progress and updates
Maintain accurate design documentation and meet defined turnaround timelines for each case
What You Will Need
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline strongly preferred.
Minimum 0 years of experience in engineering, design, or related technical discipline
Strong customer focus and exceptional communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Internship experience in engineering, product design, or medical device manufacturing environments
Basic understanding of human anatomy
Interest in medical device design and patient-specific solutions
CAD software experience, preferably SolidWorks
