The Design Drafter will be responsible for preparing manufacturing drawing packages using 3D CAD software, interpreting design requirements, managing product BOMs, and providing documentation and manufacturing support. This position will work closely with production, engineering, scheduling, and purchasing.

 

Responsibilities

  • Generate manufacturing drawing packages using 3D CAD software (Solid Edge).

  • Ensure drawing packages are designed based on criteria established by design engineering and manufacturing.

  • Work closely with application engineering to interpret customer specifications/requirements and ensure products meet the desired outcome.

  • Manage customer “special” orders.

  • Provide documentation support (ER’s, ECN’s, work instruction, etc.) as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • SolidWorks/Solid Edge or other Drafting Certification.

  • Associates Degree in related field.

  • Strong initiative and a positive attitude.

  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with reading manufacturing drawings and blueprints.

  • Demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytic skills

  • Ability to work effectively with peers to resolve issues and implement change.

  • Organized and task-oriented, with attention to detail and follow-through.

  • Strong working knowledge of 3D Solid Edge or equivalent software.

  • Demonstration of computer-based skills: AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, other Microsoft and in-house software.

  • Previous experience in sheet metal manufacturing or HVAC industry is considered an asset.

Skills Required
