Role Purpose
The Design Coordinator is responsible for leading and coordinating all architectural, structural, and MEP design activities across projects. The role ensures design quality, compliance with local regulations and international standards, and timely delivery of coordinated design outputs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all architectural, structural, and MEP design activities across assigned projects.
- Manage and liaise with design consultants, ensuring adherence to project requirements, timelines, and quality standards.
- Conduct and oversee design reviews to ensure accuracy, coordination, and compliance.
- Ensure all designs comply with Qatar local regulations, authority requirements, and relevant international standards.
- Coordinate CAD/BIM deliverables, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timely submission of design packages.
- Monitor and track design milestones and ensure deadlines are achieved.
- Manage the RFI (Request for Information) register, ensuring timely responses and resolution from consultants.
- Identify design risks, conflicts, and gaps, and proactively coordinate solutions.
- Prepare and present design progress reports to the reporting head.
- Attend and represent the department in design review meetings, coordination meetings, and stakeholder discussions.
- Ensure proper documentation, version control, and record-keeping of all design-related information.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 to 8 years of relevant experience, preferably within Qatar.
- Strong experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary design (Architectural, Structural & MEP).
- Thorough knowledge of Qatar construction regulations and authority approval processes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design coordination tools.
- Strong understanding of design management processes and project lifecycle.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field
