The Role
Job Summary & Responsibilities

General Summary


The Design Assistant is responsible for assisting the Creative Director with the executions for Madden Girl Handbags. This position supports the Wholesale Handbags business.

 

The responsibilities described below are considered essential functions of the role.  This position is based in our NYC office and requires working on-site five days per week.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Design - creating spec sheets and measuring physical samples
  • Creative Design - be able to put together trend boards based on trend research
  • Design product from quality, pattern, color
  • Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with support and resources as needed
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

 

Specific Job Skills:

 

Essential duties include

  • Organizational Skills - needs to be able to keep track of samples in excel sheets across multiple seasons at the same time
  • Communication Skills - this role requires direct communication with the factories and internally with sales
  • Presentation Skills - be able to present product in meetings

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field
  • Minimum of 1 years in related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills

 

 

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $24.00 -$26.00. Ranges are based on various factors such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
