The Role


We are looking for an individual who can lead as a Football Officiating Deputy Operations Manager. Overall, this role is responsible for ensuring the overall success of our semi-automated offside technology (SAOT) operations. The Football Officiating Deputy Operations Manager will assist to lead the team to process live tracks, validate markings and events, handle day-to-day activities, develop and implement future strategies, make crucial decisions live and in person, and work closely with product leadership to meet expectations and objectives.

 

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Be the chief aid and most trusted correspondent to the Football Officiating Operations Manager - SAOT.
  • Provide decision making to the operations team according to the flow of live play and the system.
  • Determine key points of communication to customers and clients both remote and in-person during match days.
  • Lead a large and diverse staff.
  • Master and have complete command over the entire SAOT system and processes.
  • Maintain and develop documentation.
  • Influence operational staffing decisions in synchronization with engineering development and client service-level agreements.
  • Be the knowledge bank for operations to identify and troubleshoot system failures.
  • Ensuring a strong global collaboration with multiple international offices.
  • Aptly available to work on Second Spectrum game operations duties such as tracking and data delivery.

 

What You Have:

  • Knowledge and experience with definitional football terms.
  • A strong tolerance for repetitive tasks.
  • Prior experience with making time-critical judgment calls regarding live data processing, engineering support.
  • Prior experience collaborating live with remote colleagues.
  • Enforcement of self accountability and the performance of a large team.


Additional Position Details:

  • Must be able and available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must possess flexibility, including early morning and late evenings.
  • Fluency in English and French is required; proficiency in Flemish will be considered an advantage.
