The Position

Job Description

SUMMARY

The position is responsible for processing and balancing incoming and outgoing wires (Domestic and Foreign). A Wire Operator I must be able to perform all the duties related to this task.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Processes incoming and outgoing wires – foreign and domestic.
• Complete call backs to customers as part of fraud prevention including RFA items.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITIES

• Completes all required compliance exams on a yearly basis.
• Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures.
• Dresses Professionally.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Education and Work Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One or two years of banking experience preferred.
• Strong high school level mathematical skills
• Familiarity with foreign exchange concepts, major currencies and geography preferred.
• Experience in wire transfer application processing such as the FedWire FedLine Wire Transfer System preferred

Technical/Functional Competencies

• Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word and Excel required.
• Operational knowledge of general office equipment
• Excellent customer service skills required by all means of communication including written, verbal and nonverbal communication.
• Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal skills: able to work well with a wide range of people.
• Handles situations professionally and welcomes additional responsibilities.
• Learn how to set goals, prioritize and manage time to complete assigned tasks
• Willingness to learn and ask questions about job responsibilities and objectives
