First Hawaiian Bank is currently seeking a Deposit & Lending Products Strategy Manager to join our Deposit and Lending Services Department

Compensation:
The pay range for the role is $124,000 - $150,000/yr; commensurate with experience
The level of the position will be determined by the hiring manager based on the candidate's qualifications.

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM (hours may vary)    

Responsibilities

Leads the team responsible for the strategy, development, and performance of the Bank’s deposit products and retail lending portfolio, including consumer and small business loans and lines.  This role will guide a team of Product Managers to drive portfolio growth, deliver a best-in-class customer experience, strengthen competitive positioning, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. This role blends product strategy, P&L management, portfolio optimization, and cross‑functional leadership, ensuring the deposit and lending businesses operate effectively and advance the organization’s strategic goals. 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, finance, economics, related field, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Experience managing deposits, consumer and small business products preferred.
  • Master of business administration or advanced degree, a plus.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, digital product development, or modern customer engagement strategies, a plus.
  • Additional education/coursework in a technical field such as Computer Science, Math, Statistics, etc. a plus.
  • Seven (7) years of progressive experience in retail banking product management, specifically in deposit products and/or consumer and small business lending. 
  • Five (5)+ years in a leadership or people management role, including direct management of Product Managers or similar functions.

    Required experience may be obtained concurrently.

  • Proficient in MS Office 365 suite of applications.
  • Strong understanding of product portfolio economics, acquisition levers, lifecycle management, and customer behavior.
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal—with the ability to influence and engage at all organizational levels.
  • Proven track record managing end-to-end product development, from concept through launch and lifecycle optimization. 
  • Experience with market research, competitive analysis, customer insights, and data driven decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high performing teams, set strategic direction, and drive accountability. 
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and navigate complex cross-functional environments. 
    Strong vendor, partner, and technology platform management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience delivering executive level presentations and simplifying complex concepts for nontechnical audiences.
  • Able to handle confidential matters judiciously.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills; excels in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with competing deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to operational excellence and follow-through.
  • Adept at navigating complexity and ambiguity while maintaining focus on key priorities and outcomes.
