Deposit Data Analyst Program

This role is part of an accelerated career advancement program for entry level candidates who have recently graduated or will soon be graduating from a 4-year or graduate college program. This program is within the Chief Financial organization which manages all aspects of the bank’s financials and portfolio management.  This opportunity will have high visibility and will report up through the Chief Deposit Officer at Simmons Bank.  This role will learn data and financial analytics under the mentoring and leadership of the Chief Deposit Office. To be successful, this role will require a self-driven individual who can take direction and guidance from the analyst leadership team, with a passion for digging into details and providing value added solutions to drive bank strategy. 

Responsibilities

  • Learn the bank’s products and services, its pricing and fee structures, and how these services are value added to our clients
  • Assist in the building and management of portfolio analytics and reporting with our PowerBI reporting software
  • Learn how to query databases using SQL, applying data to real world bank applications
  • By leveraging data and financial acumen, advocate for improvements to the banks products and services by presenting proposals to senior leadership
  • Learn the financial metrics on the general ledger (i.e. balance sheet, income statement) & prepare reporting as needed
  • Conduct financial modeling, forecasting exercises, and scenario analysis for deposit and product proposals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, data science, engineering, economics, or other technical area
  • Financial or Analytics experience, either in college coursework or internship / job
  • Desire to learn advanced Excel skills and / or data analytics skills such as SQL & PowerBI
  • Desire to work in a fast paced, high visibility role that requires meeting strict deadlines

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Data Science or equivalent technical degree
  • Internship or job experience - specifically in portfolio management, pricing management, data science for financial / insurance services
