We are a team of engineers, operators, entrepreneurs, and partners driven by a shared ambition to set the new performance standard for renewable energy and grid resilience.

Role Summary

We’re looking for a Field Project Engineering Lead who thrives at the intersection of engineering, field operations, and project execution. This is a hands-on role for someone who can move between the lab and the job site with equal confidence. You’ll take ownership of deploying new energy systems, from first-of-a-kind pilots through scaled BESS programs, and make sure every installation is safe, serviceable, and repeatable.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead deployment operations across test labs and customer sites, from site readiness to installation, commissioning, and service handoff.

  • Work closely with design engineers to ensure designs are practical in the field and support long-term service.

  • Manage construction and facilities buildouts, including power systems and large-scale BESS assemblies.

  • Act as the technical program manager for field trials: plan, schedule, allocate resources, and coordinate across teams.

  • Partner with EPCs and contractors, negotiating scope and holding them accountable for cost, schedule, and quality.

  • Build the deployment playbook: procedures, troubleshooting guides, commissioning workflows, and service tools.

  • Troubleshoot field issues, run diagnostics, and feed structured learnings back into design and manufacturing.

  • Train field technicians and provide technical escalation support during deployments.

  • Contribute to service and maintenance planning for long-term fleet reliability.

  • Perform basic electrical calculations (current flow, voltage drop) and confirm safe, efficient site infrastructure.

What We’re Looking For

Top Technical Qualifications:

  • Experience in construction project management and/or infrastructure deployment.
  • Familiarity with fleet operations, facilities project management, and site coordination.
  • Deep understanding of working with EPCs and large contractors on complex construction projects.
  • Strong hands-on electrical experience—background as an electrician, electrical technician, or test engineer preferred.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, calculate electrical loads, and interface with electrical design and field engineers.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting; background in batteries, power electronics, or related systems a plus.

  • Comfortable running multiple projects at once in fast-moving, resource-constrained environments.

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to write clear processes and train others.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time and stay on-site for extended periods as needed.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience in field deployment or operations roles supporting hardware rollouts or energy systems.
  • Comfortable managing moving parts across 3+ concurrent projects in dynamic, resource-constrained environments.
  • Strong lateral leadership—able to pull in and coordinate cross-functional support without formal authority.
  • Familiarity with mechanical or structural field designs—e.g., BESS structural interconnection, site layout.
  • Proficiency in developing operational processes, maintenance plans, and deployment playbooks.
  • A bias for execution, troubleshooting, and iterating with minimal oversight.

Nice to Have

  • Certifications: OSHA, PMP, Journeyman Electrician License, or similar.
  • Experience working in an early-stage or fast-growth tech environment.
  • Familiarity with service contracts, commissioning protocols, and vendor agreements.

The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $170,000, with actual pay varying based on work location, experience, and skills. Our competitive benefits package includes flexible time off, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a strong 401(k) plan, and equity opportunities. Join us to thrive in a supportive environment while making a meaningful impact in the energy sector!
