Patient Transporters transport patients throughout the hospital and deliver exceptional service to each and every patient they encounter. This dedicated team of caregivers is looking to add a Department Supervisor to their team who will ensure the transporters are helping patients get to where they need to go for the various procedures needed during their stay. In this role, you will interact with caregivers of all roles in both Martin North and Martin South Hospitals, act as a technical resource for team members, and help ensure that your team is meeting the turnaround time of under 30 minutes from the time the ticket is entered to the time it is completed. Not only will this role help you gain leadership experience through supervising 15-20 caregivers, but it can also lead to other leadership opportunities in the future and growth within the organization.
A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 8:00AM – 5:00PM, including rotating holidays.
Martin North Hospital will be the primary work location, but floating to Martin South Hospital will be required, as needed.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Supervise the technical and administrative functions.
Supervise employees in daily operations.
Maintain staffing levels.
Approve and schedule paid time off and leave requests.
Provide leadership and training.
Coordinate and provide orientation, education and training.
Ensure cross coverage.
Develop effective work teams and improve procedures and processes.
Encourage and support morale building activities and positive attitudes.
Communicate with employees and provide orientation on policies.
Analyze workflow and procedures.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve speed, quality and effectiveness.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
Two years of experience as a work leader, team lead or project manager OR one year of supervisory experience in a related field
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Associate’s Degree
Physical Requirements:
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Requires dexterity sufficient to operate a computer.
Will require the ability to operate various types of powered material handling equipment.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
