ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function.

  • Coordinate and prioritize production activities within the designated zone.
  • Ensure that production schedules are adhered to and that products are manufactured according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other department leads to optimize overall production flow.
  • Lead a team of production workers and operators within the zone.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to enhance their skills and productivity.
  • Encourage a positive and cooperative working atmosphere to foster team cohesion and morale.
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure products meet the required quality standards.
  • Perform required quality control testing, recording, and charting procedures, ensuring that nonconforming product is handled according to company policy and procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any quality issues or non-compliance.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture within the zone, ensuring all employees follow safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Identify and address potential safety hazards promptly to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Oversee the proper functioning and maintenance of machinery and equipment in the zone. Coordinate with the maintenance department for repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles to optimize production processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of production activities, quality reports, and inventory levels.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on production performance and key performance indicators (KPIs) to management.
  • Participate in training programs to stay updated on manufacturing techniques, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Share knowledge and skills with team members to enhance their professional development.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS

An individual qualified for this job must have and maintain the following qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a high-speed production environment, or any satisfactory combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above duties.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing practices is highly desirable.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Remain in a stationary position when performing tasks.
  • Regularly move about and transport products and materials weighing up to 50 pounds when lifting gallons of chemicals, boxes of labels, pallets, glue buckets, and essential materials as required in the packaging line process .
  • Manipulate products on pallets, using force of up to 30 pounds.
  • Position oneself to retrieve products or materials from ground level.
  • Work effectively atop elevated workspaces up to 20 feet above ground level.
  • Reach overhead to access buckets, labels, and boxes.
  • Ascend/descend stairs/ladders.
  • Operate, position, and use a wide variety of hand tools and equipment.
  • Perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels and have the ability to exchange detailed information.
  • Move about the manufacturing facility to observe and effectively communicate with team members and perform job duties.

ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS

  • The individual in this position will be expected to work in a manufacturing plant environment, which may include being exposed to work in high/precarious places, moving machinery marked changes in temperature and humidity, and dust, odors, and fumes. Typical noise level is loud.
