The Demand Planner is responsible for developing, validating, and managing robust bottom-up demand forecasts for products across global markets, with a primary focus on Southeast Asia. This role involves close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Planning, and other market stakeholders to ensure highly accurate forecasts, optimal inventory levels, and effective communication of risks and opportunities. The Demand Planner will drive continuous improvement in demand planning processes and act as a key stakeholder in the regional Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and S&OE processes.
Responsibilities
1. Demand Forecasting & Validation
- Utilize historical data, market trends, and inputs from commercial teams to develop volume forecasts by market to guide business and production plans
- Understand SKU-level changes, ranging plans, new product development (NPD) timelines, and business requirements (e.g., demand shape, excess clearance). Regularly review and align with stakeholders to consolidate forecasts and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
- Validate SKU readiness and system status in SAP IBP, and ensure proper upload and sign-off aligned with regional timelines.
- Prepare baseline demand submissions and finalize forecasts for monthly leadership sign-off.
2. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply, Finance, Order Management, and Channel Management teams to understand drivers influencing forecast accuracy and inventory needs.
- Serve as the main point of contact for demand planning related queries and adhoc requests across the region.
- Collaborate with market teams to develop forecast plans to manage & execute product ranging (NPD launches & phase-out discontinuation)
- Support weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly meetings with market teams, distributors, and business leadership.
3. Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Monitor forecast accuracy and identify performance gaps through root cause analysis; implement corrective actions as required.
- Generate and maintain regular reports and dashboards, communicating key insights, KPIs, and performance trends to stakeholders and senior management.
- Prepare and present forecast updates, risk summaries, constraints, and opportunities at monthly IBP/S&OP meetings and Demand Review Meetings (DRM).
4. Inventory Management & Replenishment
- Work with Supply Planning and Channel Management to minimize stockouts and reduce inventory risk.
- Support allocation processes and ensure demand is shaped in line with supply and purchase order requirements.
- Lead planning for excess depletion, end-of-life (EOP) SKU management, and spares and accessories demand validation.
5. Continuous Improvement & Systems Expertise
- Drive initiatives to enhance demand planning methodologies, streamline processes, and increase forecast accuracy.
- Support deployment and utilization of enabling technologies/solutions (e.g., SAP IBP) at market and regional level.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and deploy them to improve regional demand planning capabilities.
6. Data Management & Documentation
- Maintain records of past forecast submissions (forecast waterfall), ensure compliance with process guidelines, and update trackers (e.g., Excess, NPD).
- Validate SKU readiness and system status in SAP IBP, and ensure proper upload and sign-off aligned with regional timelines.
- Ensure timely & accurate forecast upload into Dyson’s systems in each cycle in line with global demand process guidelines.
