About the role:

We are seeking a Delivery Lead to join our dynamic software engineering organization. As a Delivery Lead, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical projects within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, excellent leadership abilities, and exceptional project management skills. Additionally, the candidate should be adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously, possess technical expertise in Atlassian Jira and Agile/Scrum methodologies, and be capable of assisting Engineering managers with resource allocation and forecasting.  This role will collaborate with Product and Engineering Managers to define project milestones and methods to track them with a strong emphasis on forecasting accuracy and delivery.

  • Professional experience in backend, database, and data pipeline projects preferred.
  • Ability to manage projects across multiple, technical teams.
  • Inquisitive mindset, quickly grasping business objectives.
  • Ability to assist teams establishing measurable, attainable milestones that can be reported on a weekly basis.
  • Employs open, constructive communication to aid prioritization; tracking ambiguity to mitigate project risks
  • Ability to identify or set up team processes that pertain to project status and roadmaps.
  • You lead by example and enjoy championing, mentoring, implementing best practices where needed.

What you bring to the table:

  • PMP Certification or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Expertise in Atlassian Jira and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification is advantageous.
  • Proven experience managing multiple complex development projects concurrently in a software engineering environment.
  • Ability to establish project milestones and KPIs, reporting project summaries at an executive level.

After 3 months you will have accomplished

  • Clearly understand organizational business goals, assigned project requirements, and can explain how they correlate.
  • Understand each team’s responsibilities to ensure project dependencies are addressed.
  • Have a clear understanding about the organization’s agile process, and how work items track in Jira.
  • You’re actively engaged with Project Team Managers on a regular schedule.  
  • You ensure a backlog cadence is established and actively maintained. 
  • You’ve defined a set of milestones for each project/team at least 3 months out forecasted with estimates and team member assignments.
  • You’re established KPIs, providing a bi-weekly status report for assigned projects with defined metrics and milestones.

After 1 year you will have accomplished

  • You’re engaged with Engineering Directors and the associated Product Management 
  • Directors with a 6-month roadmap.
  • Assisting Product Management with resources allocation between teams, and communicating/reporting major changes/risks/releases across the organization.
  • You understand how to onboard new projects or requests from multiple teams, escalate to dispersed team managers.
  • Assist teams with generating high-level, annual roadmaps and identifying resourcing / timeline conflicts.

The salary range below is for Base Salary.  Total compensation also includes benefits and variable compensation.  Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, and the employee’s geographic location.

Base Compensation

$120,000$170,000 USD
