The People Team covers the People Management of over 1600 colleagues in Samsung Electronics (UK) Ltd and the European Headquarters, based in Chertsey.

This is a hybrid role where you will be responsible for supporting the Head of Culture and Organisational Change, by supervising our DEI, Wellbeing and Employee Engagement strategies; to help achieve the team’s vision of creating a world-class employee experience and a working culture where all colleagues feel included, informed and inspired to deliver at their very best!
You will be part of a small and dynamic team that helps enable the company and colleagues adapt to internal and external shifts by modifying structure, strategies, and technologies. You will play a key role in supporting culture progression and our value proposition by helping to design initiatives, campaigns and content that reinforce our ambitions to ensure a positive work environment for all.
Role and Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities

Contribute and make recommendations to define strategies for DEI, employee engagement, internal comms and employee engagement. Collaborate closely with the PR, Marketing, CSR, and the broader People Team to build unified and competitive initiatives. Generate reports on market trends, analytics, standard methodology, and provide suggestions for innovative solutions.

Coordinate and lead all aspects of a program of events, activities, and campaigns based on strategies. Collaborate with the wider People Team, business partners, employee groups, and committees to ensure successful delivery.

Manage the day-to-day operations of our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), Affinity Groups and Mental Health First Aiders, ensuring they operate to agreed standards, practices and principles. Manage regular group meetings, act as SME and oversee relevant initiatives and internal communications; increasing membership engagement and driving traffic to our internal comms platform. Coordinate the quarterly 'Culture Group' meeting, bringing together committees and groups from SEUK, Europe Office, and RPM landscape. Facilitate the exchange of standard methodologies and encourage collaboration among diverse groups in line with our overall strategies.

Take a lead in the delivery of a new Health Strategy; working closely with the Reward & Benefits and Employee Relations team’s, in the onboarding of relevant service providers (including EAP, Occupational Health and other relevant providers) and play an active part in the transformation and improvement of the Mental, Physical and Occupational Health support to the business.

Work with relevant partners within the People Team and company collaborators to implement an Employer Brand strategy and value proposition, aligned to European People Team and SEUK Brand team, that aims to improve external understanding and engagement in the company. Manage the collation of relevant materials, support in creating inspiring resources and sharing employee experience through all internal and external channels, including Social Media and talent acquisition partners. Support with any subsequent internal re-branding for the wider People Team.

Support the Workplace Solutions Team to deliver customer-centric tailored services, provisions and workplace environment solutions to enhance the employee experience and sense of belonging and inclusion.

When required, support the Internal Comms Specialist in their role of delivering effective communication that helps shape critical messaging that aligns colleagues with the company’s vision, culture and strategic goals – through all comms channels and internal events. Support in the creation of multi-media content to reach diverse audiences. Support with the communication and employee engagement of the global Samsung Culture Index Survey, polls and research projects.

You will have a deep awareness and appreciation of different cultural, racial, gender, socioeconomic, and other backgrounds. With an understanding and respect of different cultures across our global and multicultural organisation. You will have experience of working with ERG / Affinity groups and/or culture committees.

You will possess strong interpersonal skills that enable you to manage emotions, navigate social complexities, and build relationships across the organisation at all levels. You will have the ability to understand, listen to and share the feelings and perspectives of our colleagues, especially when dealing with sensitive topics.

You will have experience in creating messaging that reinforces our DEI, Cultural, and Employee Engagement concepts, across multiple platforms and channels. You will have experience of working in a multicultural environment and be proficient in effectively managing relationships with diverse individuals, including collaborators, customers, partners, and team members, through active listening.
Knowledge of DEI & Culture Practices
An extensive knowledge of frameworks, strategies, and standard processes to cultivate a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture is required. You are dedicated to advancing DEI over the long term, recognising that meaningful cultural change takes time and continuous effort. You will be familiar with employment laws, anti-discrimination policies, and regulations related to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Discipline and mindset
You have a strategic, proactive, analytical, innovative and creative mind-set which is constantly seeking ways to improve our employee offering. The ability to work independently, and within a team, to build robust and impactful solutions & campaigns with limited resources. The confidence to seek clarity, prioritise and adapt under pressure in a fast-moving environment, shifting between multiple priorities while maintaining an eye on results, and inspiring others.
Key factors.
You have experience of working in an HR/People Team and of working directly with an employee base. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including content creation, presentation and a good knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge of graphic design software and video editing software is an advantage.
What does success look like?
In the first 6-12 months, as well as being fully integrated in the People Team, you will have supported in the delivery of a comprehensive health strategy into the business. You will have been instrumental in the design, and implementation of a refreshed DEI strategy and subsequent implementation. You will have supported in the reformation of the ERG and Affinity Group’s strategy and management plan, and be seen as the key liaison between them, the business (including the leaders) and People Team.
