Nova is growing its team to support upcoming Defence work below the line. We are looking to connect with experienced professionals who want to bring their expertise to complex, nationally significant projects and help deliver capability that matters.

You will join Nova’s Professional Services & Advisory team as a consultant, working alongside multidisciplinary specialists to solve complex problems across Defence technology and mission environments. 

 

About the roles:

Working as part of a collaborative team, you will contribute to a range of engineering and advisory activities across diverse project teams.

 

These roles are ideal for individuals with a strong interest in Defence engineering project-based work who can work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will thrive in complex environments, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and play a key role in delivering outcomes that support Defence capability.

 

What you will be involved with:

  • Providing consultancy advice and technical solutions to clients in project environments.
  • Supporting both billable client work and non-billable internal activities. 
  • Working across a range of projects with varying requirements and priorities. 
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders. 
  • Understanding client needs, challenges and objectives. 
  • Conducting assessments and analysis of systems, processes and projects. 
  • Identifying areas for improvement and proposing solutions. 
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineers, logisticians, technicians and end users. 
  • Preparing technical reports, project documentation and presentations. 
  • Maintaining accurate records, documentation and project information.
  • For engineering roles, relevant engineering qualifications recognised by Engineers Australia.
  • Relevant Defence or Defence Industry experience. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex issues and develop effective solutions. 
  • Ability to understand client needs, challenges and objectives. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess systems and processes. 
  • Ability to work across different projects and adapt to changing requirements. 
  • Willingness to contribute across a range of tasks, including outside core skill areas where required. 
  • Australian Citizen with an active or suspended NV1 clearance.
