The Analyst, Default Reporting II will provide data and analytical support to the Default Reporting team and Senior Leadership of Freedom Mortgage’s Servicing line of business. Will assist team members with developing and maintaining reporting documents, provide on the job training, interrogate conduct control reporting, and evaluate process for best practice to ensure a high level of data integrity as reported to the agencies. Management of daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, USDA, and Private Mortgage Insurance Companies through various methods of communication. Will also be responsible for managing changes to investor/insurer reporting guidelines. Review all exceptions and partner with default business units to clear exceptions and ensure accurate reporting. Drive process improvement to eliminate manual intervention and extensive loan level reviews. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Capable of performing Default Reporting functions for all investor/insurers portfolios.

  • Capable of understanding, reviewing, and clearing investor/insurers exception reports within required timeframes.

  • Perform loan level review and research as necessary.

  • Responsible for managing timely and accurate reporting for accounts that are in default to the various investors and insurers.

  • Assist in retrieving, saving, and converting daily reports for the team.

  • Responsible for working with other default areas (ie, Loss Mitigation, Bankruptcy, Foreclosure, Collections, REO, Claims.,) to ensure a smooth process, accuracy of information reported to the various investors and insurers.

  • Serve as primary point of contact to internal and external parties for escalations related to one or more business functions in pre/post foreclosure areas to minimize reputational impact to Freedom Mortgage and ensure optimal resolution for business unit.

  • Conduct quality review of portfolios to ensure compliance of the investor/insurer guidelines.

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with directives, both verbal and electronic, from regulatory agencies, CFPB, GSE’s, investors and insurers for Default Services functional work groups.

  • Collaborate with management to provide feedback about problem areas and any conditions that may adversely affect established company goals.

  • Develop and maintain reporting for servicing department exception processing.

  • Monitor and analyze routine reports to identify servicing gaps or opportunities for improvement.

  • Perform as the lead in conducting testing as related to new initiatives, code crosses and enhancements.

  • Provide analytical support in reviewing various scorecards to determine irregularities and trends.

  • Cross train other team members as needed.

  • Ability to apply basic math skills to analyze data or create dashboards/scorecards.

  • Accountable for performing all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and state and federal laws.

  • Establish and foster a work culture at all levels within the operation, which is positive, collaborative, respectful, optimistic, and capable of driving long term operational sustainability.

  • Work with management to develop and implement new or revised processes and guidelines and realize process efficiencies and potential gaps created within Default Reporting department.

  • Cross train other team members as needed.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Qualifications:

  • Strong skills in Excel (VLOOKUP’s & Excel formulas).

  • Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and able to work independently.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • Five years Mortgage Servicing experience.

  • Previous knowledge of mortgage servicing default is extremely helpful.
