About the role.
The NA Deduction Specialist is responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts and ensuring the timely analysis, validation, and resolution of deduction and payment claims across trade and non-trade spend. This role plays a critical part in supporting cash preservation and revenue generation by researching deductions, recovering invalid claims, performing financial analysis, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve account discrepancies. The position reports to the Supervisor, Deductions and is based in Florenceville, New Brunswick.
What you'll be doing.
  • Research, analyze, and process customer payment and deduction claims in accordance with contractual agreements, departmental procedures, system requirements, and audit standards.
  • Manage the end-to-end invalid deduction recovery process, including escalation to Commercial Finance, Control, and Field Sales teams when required.
  • Conduct account reconciliations through detailed analysis of current and historical financial data to identify trends, root causes, and resolution opportunities.
  • Prioritize and manage workload effectively across payments, deductions, invalid claim recoveries, and other account activities.
  • Investigate and resolve open transactions, including customer overpayments, account credits, and debit balances within an assigned customer portfolio.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of deductions and payment issues.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by providing documentation, analysis, and process expertise.
  • Maintain accurate account records and ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve processes, resolve issues, and support business objectives.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Deductions Supervisor and Commercial Finance team.

What you'll need to be successful.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify root causes.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate clearly across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to change, and take ownership of outcomes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with SAP, Vistex, and High Radius is considered an asset.

About the team.
The North America Deductions team supports the effective management and resolution of customer deductions and payment claims across the business. Reporting to the Supervisor, Deductions, the team works closely with Commercial Finance, Sales, Control, and customer partners to protect revenue, improve cash flow, maintain compliance, and deliver exceptional customer service. This role is an important contributor to achieving the team's financial and operational objectives.

Compensation Package : $42,300.00 - $56,500.00 . CAD annually
