Brief Description
The Dedicated Sales Engineer supports the application and sale of PDC drill bits by providing technical expertise, data analysis, and hands-on customer support. This role partners closely with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Applications teams to drive revenue growth, improve product performance, and strengthen customer relationships within an assigned geographic area.
Detailed Description
Develop and maintain a high level of technical knowledge across defined applications and product lines
Provide value-added technical support to customers while advancing Ulterra’s market position
Communicate Ulterra product performance both internally and externally
Perform daily evaluation and analysis of product performance
Provide technical support to the sales force including hydraulics programs, BHA and parameter recommendations, quarterly recaps, performance summaries, product and application presentations, and market analysis
Provide onsite technical support to customer drilling operations as needed
Collaborate with Engineering teams including Design, Manufacturing, Applications, and IT to support product development, quality, optimization, and technical tools
Drive revenue growth and market share by building strong customer relationships and delivering technical sales support
Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to employees

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Engineering or technical degree required (Mechanical Engineering preferred; Petroleum Engineering or related disciplines considered)
Ability to navigate maps and use GPS technology
Willingness and ability to travel frequently
Ability to remain on job sites for extended periods, including multiple consecutive days
Preferred Certifications
Mechanical Engineering degree
Petroleum Engineering degree
Other relevant engineering or technical disciplines
Additional Details
This position requires frequent travel and extended field presence. The role involves physical activities such as bending, stooping, sitting, and walking. Candidates must have visual acuity, hand and finger dexterity, and the ability to communicate effectively, including talking and hearing with both close and distant vision. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.
