Position Summary:
The HR Specialist (Workforce Planning) leads workforce planning, talent management, and HR audit activities. This role provides expert consultation on workforce planning strategies, succession planning, retention, and executive talent management. The specialist develops and maintains the Workforce Plan and ensures alignment between current workforce capabilities and future organizational needs.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct computer based modeling and online simulations to analyze workforce needs and future trends.
- Collect, clean, and analyze qualitative and quantitative workforce data, including demographics, staffing levels, and skills/competencies. Perform workforce gap analyses to identify size, composition, staffing, and competency gaps or surpluses.
- Develop workforce forecasts and trend projections using statistical methods and expert input.
- Build dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, and advanced Excel tools.
- Produce recurring and ad hoc workforce analytics reports for HR and organizational leadership.
- Provide analytical inputs for the Workforce Plan, including maturity model assessments and IT workforce planning data.
- Track, monitor, and report progress on workforce action plans, including timelines, milestones, and outcomes.
- Support the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to data analysis and reporting.
- Extract, transform, and report data from current and future HR systems to support workforce analytics.
- Deliver data driven insights and recommendations to HR specialists, project managers, and leadership.
Required Qualifications:
- US Citizen
- BS or BA degree
- Minimum 5 years of experience analyzing federal human resources data.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data modeling.
- Experience with Tableau and/or Power BI.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct forecasting, modeling, and statistical analysis.
- Experience working with HR data sources (e.g., demographics, staffing, competencies).
