Job Summary:

Reporting to the Decorator Showcase Executive Director, the Decorator Showcase Events and Operations Manager will use their knowledge and skills in non-profit fundraising to lead several high-profile fundraising and donor events for the school.

This position plays a pivotal leadership role in orchestrating the Decorator Showcase, the school’s premier design fundraiser, which has raised over $21M for the Financial Aid Program.

In this role, you will design and execute a diverse array of community and design events—ranging from volunteer kick-offs to high-end galas. Collaborating closely with volunteer Co-Chairs and Committee Chairs, you will lead a large volunteer committee, drive fundraising workstreams, and implement creative strategies for donor cultivation and stewardship. Due to the relational nature of this role, it will predominately be an on site and in person role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Annual Strategy: Develop and execute an annual events calendar focused on donor engagement, cultivation, recognition, and stewardship.
  • Project Management: Create detailed work plans, map out team assignments, monitor milestones, and ensure flawless, end-to-end event execution.
  • Logistics & Experience: Oversee registration strategy, event logistics, and on-site operations to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
  • Production & Collateral: Lead the creation of event materials, scripts, briefings, and the annual Program Book.
  • Post-Event Analysis: Define success metrics, gather attendee feedback, and analyze event outcomes to drive continuous improvement.
  • Committee Leadership: Partner with volunteer Co-Chairs to manage, motivate, and direct a large volunteer committee and contingent event staff.
  • Relationship Building: Act as a key liaison, building trust and rapport with central development staff, vendors, parents, alumni, students, and designers.
  • Budget Management: Collaborate cross-departmentally to build, monitor, and manage complex program budgets, ensuring optimal resource allocation.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of 3 years of relevant event planning, fundraising, or project management experience. Proficiency in Google Suite is required; experience with Raiser’s Edge is a strong plus.

Ability to work some evenings and weekends, with increased availability required in May during the public Showcase run.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. UHS offers a comprehensive benefits package, including retirement, medical, vision, dental, and vacation.

Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000 depending on experience

FLSA Status and Schedule: Exempt, full-time
