About this opportunity:

Cenovus is currently looking for a Deck Operator based in our Offshore facility at

SeaRose.

Deck operators on SeaRose FPSO are responsible for frontline support of Marine Operations onboard the SeaRose FPSO. They are accountable for the safe and correct execution of instructions from the Marine Coordinator in accordance with Cenovus Policies and Procedures, Regulatory requirements, and offshore industry standards to achieve established objectives in the most productive, cost effective and safest manner. These roles are critical to Cenovus offshore operations on SeaRose FPSO as they are needed to manage cargo onboard, support the marine team with operations such as ballast and tanker offloading, support crane operations, and general maintenance and repair of marine systems. Deck operators are core members of the Marine team and report to the Marine Coordinators.

This position will be based offshore Grand Banks, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. This is a full-time, permanent position working offshore 12-hours per day on a 3 weeks on/ 3 weeks off rotation.

What you’ll do:

• Assisting with movement of cargo to and from the SeaRose FPSO, including the transfer of cargo around the installation using various mechanical handling devices including the forklift

• Preparing and reviewing SeaRose Work Permits; actively participating as a member of the Helicopter Operation Team, Fire Team and Oil Spill Response Team, POB/Rescue Boat Team and Lifeboat Coxswain

• Organizing and prioritizing container movement

• Assisting in cargo and ballast operations, including shuttle tanker offloading operations

• Attending to crane operations including hooking and slinging of loads

• Completing operator rounds assessing the operations of marine systems

• Training as required by the CAPP Standard Practice for Training & Qualifications of Personnel, Transport Canada, other regulatory requirements, and company required training as per the approved Cenovus Training Matrix

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in Canada

• Up to 5 years’ experience as a Deck Operator or in a similar role on an Oil Tanker or FPSO

• Oil Tanker and/or FPSO experience greater than 5 years would be considered an asset

• Bridge Watch rating certificate

• Proficiency in Oil Tankers certificate

This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to offshore pre-placement Fitness for Work assessments, which includes drug and alcohol screening, a CAPP medical and BST/HUEBA testing.

You must be able to travel via helicopter and boat. This position requires the successful candidate travel offshore, there you will be required to obtain and maintain medical clearance and obtain all required training necessary for offshore travel.
