Under direct supervision, the Deburrer is responsible for preparing, operating, and maintaining deburring machinery and tools to ensure machined parts meet quality standards. Your role includes inspecting parts, making adjustments to equipment, and documenting production activities.

What you will do:
  • Utilize a variety of hand tools for manual deburring of precision components.
  • Utilize equipment such as sand/bead blasters, manual press, ultrasonic cleaning tanks, tumblers, etc. according to work instructions.
  • Adjust deburring techniques to ensure deburring processes meet company specifications.
  • Inspect components and finished parts for quality and adherence to specifications using gauges and microscopes.
  • Notify supervisors promptly of any tolerance or discrepancy issues.
  • Maintain accurate counts of machined parts; clean, wash, or tumble parts as required.
  • Verify conformance of finished parts to drawings and quality standards.
  • Organize and maintain materials and paperwork in an orderly fashion.
  • Follow all provided work instructions.
  • Document production and quality activities by completing forms and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) records when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of quality inspection tools such as gauges and microscopes preferred.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation purposes.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and handle repetitive manual tasks safely.

Physical Requirements:

Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person, over the telephone, and in office setting.

Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly in person, over the telephone, and on the production floor.

Vision: Visual acuity Eyesight 20/25 with or without correction. Will be required to take and pass a color blindness test for visual inspections. Work on computer for long periods of time.

Other: May require lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted, including assisting co-workers when required. Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite duties. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, and standing, walking, squatting, sitting, and looking at a computer screen for long periods at a time.
