We are currently seeking an organized and persuasive Legal Negotiator who will manage the process of negotiating settlements on behalf of our clients, ensuring favorable outcomes specifically in litigation cases. This position requires a strategic and analytical approach to case management that will require ongoing communication with opposing counsel via phone, email, and fax, as well as determining the feasibility of settlements based on clients’ current standings.
Schedule: Monday-Wednesday 9:30AM-6:00PM EST, Thursday 9:00AM-6:00PM EST, Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM EST.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with opposing counsel via phone, email, fax
- Strategize cases assigned on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis determining when a client can afford a settlement based on the opposing firms parameters
- Calculate acceptable percentages for settlements on behalf of our clients
- Negotiate on our clients behalf with law firms and creditors
- Notate settlements obtained in the appropriate software.
- Partner with Century’s attorneys regarding submitting offers and accepting offers
- Meet a monthly goal of settlements as set by management.
- Complete all other tasks as assigned by Management
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED are required
- Must have at least 1 year of Debt Negotiation experience
- Strong work ethic with excellent time management skills
- Must be adaptable to change and able to work independently
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in a legal office is preferred but not required
