Function:

MaintenanceJob Summary:

The DCS Specialist must manage and maintain CF Louisiana Region’s Distributed Control Systems (DCS). Configure DCS as required to enhance plant operation stability, production, efficiency, and/or new instillations. Monitor and tune DCS for peak performance. Maintain software inventory and licensing documentation. Coordinate activities with other DCS Specialists as required. Prepare and implement training on new and existing systems. Prepare and submit budget requests to DCS Administrator Supervisor. Install software and upgrades.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Configure DCS as required to enhance plant operation stability, production, efficiency, and/or new installations.
  • Monitor and tune DCS for peak performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve DCS problems.
  • Manages equipment and software life cycles.
  • Follows established Cyber Security policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
  • Performs regular server patching and maintenance.
  • Coordinate DCS maintenance with CF technicians or outside support.
  • Assist in the acquisition and maintenance of all DCS and periphery.
  • Candidates must follow all safety rules and keep work areas clean.
  • The job will require work outside the normal schedule, call outs on nights, weekends and holidays as well as travel.

Internal Controls:

Understands and complies with established departmental processes and procedures designed to support internal controls efforts.  Identifies and brings to the attention of department management internal controls deficiencies.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • Maintain and possess a valid Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
  • The ability to prove drug and alcohol free at random or for cause.
  • Must have P3 level E & I proficiency or comparable with 3 years of experience, or; possess 4Q operator qualification or comparable with 3 years of experience; or technical education in a field related to DCS.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed to develop working relationships with maintenance and operations personnel in a team environment.
  • The job requires frequent standing, walking and climbing (ladders and stairs).
  • Microsoft Office software knowledge.
  • Basic understanding of networking and cyber security.
